Energy Suspension's transmission shifter kit. Enjoy every shift!
Hey!... Welcome to another #modmonday, where I give you my take on a mod on one of my Subarus. This week we will feature @energysuspension's transmission shifter kit. Energy suspension bushing is much more solid and thicker than the out going factory bushing.
The Energy Suspension kit consists of the rear shifter stay, two bolts/washers/sleeves and the front bushing. Which replaces the soft gooey factory bushings, giving you less bushing deflection and improved shifter feel. The factory bushings are less than optimal new but after a 100k miles they are ready for replacement.

Installation isn't too hard, the most difficult part being the shift lever removal. If you are installing a short shifter, this is a great time to install these as the install instructions overlap. Otherwise there are just two bolts and one nut to remove under the car to replace these bushings. A vice or bushing press is helpful to install the front bushing.
If you don’t have a vice press, you can easily make your own with a long bolt, couple of nuts and a few large washers.
Once installed in the car you will notice side to side movement has been reduced. From gear to gear now has a much more satisfying feel. Gear changes are now extremely enjoyable and infectious.

This is one of those mods you will wish you did much earlier in your car ownership, and make your appreciate your car that much more. Being a cheap mod too, this should be a first mod to really enjoy your Subaru properly.
