SuperNova V.2 H1 LED headlights. Bright light.. but for how long?
Hey!... Welcome to another #modmonday this week featuring the long term review on @headlightrevolutions SuperNova V2 bulbs, they were installed in the Forester in February and removed in June due a bulb failure.
As with many upgrades there are many choices out there and finding the proper piece for you car takes time. For me that was reading many reviews, watching videos and finding any insight I could on Led bulbs. Led bulbs have been replacing standard car bulbs, house bulbs and light bulbs, so can they replace your factory headlight bulbs?
The answers are from each end the spectrum and everywhere in between. With this I still wanted to give them a try, I wanted to see what it is all about. Thus installing the SuperNova bulb gave me information and experience that I could not attain by reading.
The install for the SG Forester was not easy given the headlight assemblies and controller box supplied in the unit. But with some ingenuity I was able to make it work. With them running I noticed they were bright, extremely bright. And with this brightness I went ahead and aimed my headlight to keep from blinding my fellow driver's.
Working on cars everyday I noticed one thing, no matter what housing Led bulbs, i.e a factory led setup or aftermarket. They can easily blind if the angle or beam pattern is set up poorly, or you just happen to be directly in the beam.
Lastly, my passenger side fan ended up giving out and shortly after the led failed (1 month of use). I spoke with customer service about getting a replacement set but after almost 3 months I have yet to hear back from them after multiple emails. A two year warranty is nice, but being unable to utilize it makes it pretty useless.
