Yakima load warrior roof basket. Carrying my spare tire like a boss.

Hey!....... And welcome to #modmonday ! This week I will be reviewing my @Yakima Loadwarrior roof basket. This has been on my Forester for close to a year and is going strong.

After putting the lift on the Forester I was looking for a proper way to mount and carry my spare tire. I am always looking for a bargain.. but after seeing many cheaper options on Amazon coming with many poor reviews I was less than sold on them.

Love the character it adds to the car! And sometimes the spare tire is gone.

Not looking to purchase a poorly crafted unit and be consumed by less than optimal build quality that makes them difficult to even assemble. Many of the lesser units also have issues with being watertight and thus causing rusting and can streak down your vehicle.

After noting that Subaru sold a rebranded Yakima unit and this lead me to look further into them. The unit I decided on that I felt met all my needs was the Yakima Loadwarrior.

It is very easy to assemble and attach to the factory roof bars.  Over the last year my Loadwarrior basket has carried my spare tire effortlessly. The deflector does just as it should and stifles wind noise at speed. All the parts of a nice high quality and don't leave you second guessing its durability.

Side shot! Perfect size for the SG forester.

My only noteworthy issue with the Yakima Load warrior is on the rear of the basket I have a little area where the coating is chipping off and there are tiny specs of surface rust. Nothing has been attached here but I am not sure what has happened to it.

A noteworthy issue I had with mine originally was mounting it further forward on the car above the moonroof caused a ton of wind noise at highway speed. As the deflector drove air downward and would allow it to seep into the car. Moving it just behind it fixed this.
