Gorilla automotive chrome spline lug nuts. Holding your wheels tight to your car.
Hey!...Welcome to another #modmonday! This week we will feature Gorilla chrome spline 12x1.25 lugnuts I installed these on the Forester two years ago and they are still holding up today, but how well are they?
With the purchase of aftermarket wheels come the decision of what lug nuts will secure them on your car? One of the most commonly found and lowest priced options are the Gorilla's spline style lugnuts. The spline style gives you a slight theft deterrent and come in a silver or black.
The silver spline lug nuts have worked well for my Method wheels. They fit very well unlike my prior lug nuts which I had to be extremely careful with the lug nut tool marring the wheel. They use a spline tool for removal in installation that is approximately a 17mm to fit in the narrowest of lug nut holes.
The spline tool is a double edged sword for wheel securityy, as anyone with the same key could easily swipe your wheels without any difficulty. An issue I started to notice is the chrome coating coming off and now rusting. It isn't a safety concern, but is a bit of a eyesore especially on a nice set of wheels.
Overall I have enjoyed them and I haven't had any issues of them coming loose or cross threading. But due to the rust I will be looking to replace these soon.
